چکیده
In this paper, the performance of a new decision-directed signal reconstruction (DDSR) algorithm with optimal thresholds for use optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is investigated. Clipping noise remains one main drawbacks in many practical OFDM transmission systems. It has been shown previous studies that time-domain based DDSR can be used to effectively reduce clipping noise. However, all existing works studying algorithm, decision threshold direct fixed and equal level at which transmitted clipped. it that, due influences unavoidable receiver, fixing not an solution severely limit advantages using algorithm. A detailed theoretical analysis performed investigate key factors influence choices thresholds. The presented simulation results are verify accuracy also show significantly improved by obtained

Proposal of Clipping and Inter-Modulation Noise Mitigation Method for OFDM Signal in Non-linear Channel
One of the disadvantages of using OFDM is the larger peak to averaged power ratio (PAPR) of the time domain signal as compared with the conventional single carrier transmission method. The OFDM signal with larger PAPR will cause the undesirable spectrum regrowth and the larger degradation of bit error rate (BER) performance both due to the inter-modulation products occurring in the non-linear a...
متن کاملTurbo Decision Aided Receivers for Clipping Noise Mitigation in Coded OFDM
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is the modulation technique used in most of the high-rate communication standards. However, OFDM signals exhibit high peak average to power ratio (PAPR) that makes them particularly sensitive to nonlinear distortions caused by high-power amplifiers. Hence, the amplifier needs to operate at large output backoff, thereby decreasing the average eff...

This work was supported by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Large Grant. Abstract—Impulse noise is a significant problem in some OFDM applications including digital television broadcasting. In this paper we study the optimum threshold values for a novel decision directed impulse noise mitigation algorithm. In this algorithm the noise component in each received input sample is estimated base...
متن کاملReceiver-oriented Clipping-effect Mitigation in OFDM - a Worthy Approach?
The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation systems can significantly reduce performance and power efficiency. A number of methods exist that combat large signal peaks in the transmitter. Recently several methods have emerged that alleviate the clipping distortion in the receiver. We analyze the performance of two receiver clipping ...
متن کاملZero-overhead phase noise compensation via decision-directed phase equalizer for coherent optical OFDM.
We report and investigate the feasibility of zero-overhead laser phase noise compensation (PNC) for long-haul coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) transmission systems, using the decision-directed phase equalizer (DDPE). DDPE updates the equalization parameters on a symbol-by-symbol basis after an initial decision making stage and retrieves an estimation of the ...
